The Art of TSŪ Reciprocity

I joined the TSŪ platform just recently (almost a month) and I absolutely love what I see. 🙂
This is the first time that I have really become involved in depth with a social media since becoming a computer geek, the 486 being my first computer.
I have a Facebook,Twitter, Google Plus,Instagram…the list goes on and we probably would agree that most of us have these social venues.
I have even joined many forums within my varied passions but would lose interest as I found out we were all out searching for that one thing-looking out for number 1.
So what is the difference with a TSŪ and all the other social media sites? Well I think the obvious is being compensated and rewarded for posting content…while that might be the initial draw and a mighty strong one at that I am personally finding more and more a real sense of community.
I for one am amazed that within in a very short span of time I have connected with some pretty incredible people artists, photographers, gif extraordinaires, media nuts, Poets…you get the picture.
I also love how the thought leaders of TSŪ are constantly putting out great content in the the from of instructional “How to win friends and influence people”…(A Dale Carnegie book is more then likely at there bedside table).
We are all familiar with the terms like “I scratch your back you scratch mine”,”it’s give and take”or quoting scripture “you reap what you sow”.
So I want to offer my thoughts on growing the community through The Art of Reciprocity

Wikipedia definition-Reciprocity

social psychology refers to responding to a positive action with another positive action, rewarding kind actions. As a social construct, reciprocity means that in response to friendly actions, people are frequently much nicer and much more cooperative than predicted by the self-interest model; conversely, in response to hostile actions they are frequently much more nasty and even brutal.[1]

Also gleaned from Wikipedia “The focus of reciprocity is centered more on trading favors than making a negotiation or a contract with another person. With reciprocity, a small favor can produce a sense of obligation to a larger return favor. This feeling of obligation allows an action to be reciprocated with another action. Because there is a sense of future obligation with reciprocity it can help to develop and continue relationships with people. Reciprocity works because from a young age people are taught to return favors.

“The most valuable assets you have in business are your relationships, and those who understand the power of synergy, leverage, and Joint Ventures seldom walk away from good relationships or allow greed and ego to steal their futures.”-Robin Elliot

I was involved many moons ago in a boot camp for joint ventures and the whole idea was based on this concept of Resiprocity.I would find businesses that were the best in certain sectors and key demographics and tell them I would bring them a stream of new clients for a 15% fee on the gross of what ever business the said client did with them.
The methodology involved in getting a joint venture going with your local businesses would be going to the local newspaper looking for the peoples choice awards that was put out once a year, contact them and set up a joint venture using not a contract but a MOUMemorandum of Understanding to seal the deal.
You would personally use there services and being happy with them you would go out and share that with the world or a least your circle of influence.
So after all that what does this have to do with the TSŪ community? Well I really think if you have a member of your community liking, commenting and sharing your orginal content you need to reciprocate with gratitude that they would even do that and do the same for them.
I would have been nice if TSŪ had the amount of shares in Analytics so you could monitor the process of reciprocity.
As a new member of the community my desire is to cement solid relationships and grow the exposure of those the have a constant stream of orginal content coming across my feed to world I would hope that in turn they would return the favour.

Just my two cents
